This year, among the 2024–2025 academic year's President's nominal scholarships, 12 have been awarded to students of Vilnius University. President's scholarships are awarded for one academic year for good academic achievements and active participation in scientific and community activities. Candidates for the scholarships are selected based on their learning outcomes, assessments of their studies, scientific and artistic activities, participation in competitions, expeditions, scientific practice projects, published scientific works, etc. Nominations for the scholarships are submitted by higher education institutions and are evaluated by experts from the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. Among the four Faculty of Physics students who have been awarded the President's nominal scholarships, President Aleksandras Stulginskis (group of study programs in mathematics, computer science, and physical sciences) nominal scholarship has been awarded to the second-year master's student of the Laser Physics and Optical Technologies study program at the Laser Research Center Simona Armalytė (scientific supervisor assoc. prof. dr. Julius Vengelis). Congratulations!
