Unsuccessful exams (credits) may be retaken once within the first 2 weeks of the new semester and. Failure to pass the exam (ECTS credit) is a debt.
Scientific Research Work course cannot be retrained externally. If this particular course is being repeated, the cost of it is reduced by 50%.
If a student fails to retake the course unit (module) exam (i.e. receives a grade lower than 5 points out of 10), a debt is recorded, which can be eliminated in the following cases:
- repeating the course unit (module) - in order to repeat a course/module, the student must submit an application to VUSIS for permission to repeat the course/module no later than 14 calendar days before the beginning of the semester in which the course/module is being repeated;
- by retraining the course unit (module) externally after self-repetition - in order to retake a subject/module externally after independent repetition, no later than the end of the first month of the semester in which the subject/module to be retaken externally after independent repetition is being taken, the student must submit to the VUSIS an application for the permission to retake the subject/module externally after independent repetition. It is important to note that if the course has not been allowed to be taken, the course debt cannot be cancelled externally. In such a case, cancellation can only be achieved by repeating the course or, subject to the approval of the SAC, by replacing it with another course;
- by replacing the course unit (module) with another (in the case of general university studies course units (modules) - in order to replace a subject (module) with another, the student must submit a request to VUSIS for permission to replace the subject (module) with another subject (module) no later than 14 calendar days before the beginning of the semester in which the course (module) is being repeated. It is important to note that the curriculum committee may determine the subjects/modules that cannot be replaced by other subjects/modules.
When a student repeats a course unit (module), retakes the course unit (module) for the first time externally after independent repetition or replaces the course unit (module) with another course unit (module), and fails the course unit (module) and then fails and retakes, academic debt is recorded, which is eliminated by analogous methods of debt elimination.
It is important to note that Vilnius University students who have collected more than 20 ECTS credits debts and (or) academic debts are expelled from the University.
