Vilnius University (VU) invites the community to the inauguration ceremony of its 87th Rector, Professor Rimvydas Petrauskas, on April 1 at 15:00 at St. John’s Church.
This event coincides with the 446th anniversary of Vilnius University, and to mark the occasion, VU is hosting a series of events—both traditional and special. A key highlight will be the inauguration of Professor R. Petrauskas as the new Rector.
The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 15:00, in St. John’s Church, located at Universiteto g. 3, in the Great Courtyard. For those unable to attend in person, the ceremony will be live-streamed.
Please note that no lectures or other university activities will take place during the Rector’s inauguration ceremony.
Attendees will not have the opportunity to greet the Rector during the service. However, Professor Petrauskas will host a meet and greet on April 2 from 10:00 to 12:00 in the Rector’s Auditorium for those who wish to extend their congratulations.
